FAQs

When is the race? The Pueblo Classic will take place on Saturday, April 23rd, and Sunday, April 24th, 2022.

Do I need USA Cycling (USAC) and Colorado Cycling Organization (CCO) licenses to race? To participate in any of the USAC category races a license is required. Category 5 racers can purchase a USAC One-Day license when they register for the race. All higher categories require an annual license, purchasable on USAC’s website, http://USACycling.org. All racers (except collegiate, out-of-state residents, and those who have purchased a USAC One-Day license) need to purchase a CCO license. An Annual CCO license can be purchased on their website, https://www.coloradocycling.org/node/1169. If you’re still unsure what you need to be ready for race day, please feel free to ask.

I’m interested in bikes but I just feel like watching, can I do that? Of course! Come join us in cheering on the racers and see what a bike race looks like. ALSO, you might be interested in our Intro to Road Racing clinic or the City of Pueblo Family Fun ride for riders of all ages!

What do the courses look like? Check out the course maps below to see the routing for the Pueblo Chilly Criterium and the Steel City Road Race. You’ll also find parking locations and other important facilities labeled on the maps.

Will categories be combined? All races listed to start together on the race announcement will be one, combined race. Both collegiate and domestic categories will be racing against each other. The referee will be able to clarify any questions on the starting line prior to the starting whistle.
